Do i get priority for Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon(Yu-gi-Oh) ?
I was wondering since someone brought this to my attention, that i might not priority to activate Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon’s ability due to the fact there is no cost. Therefore it would be bottomlessed before the ability can be activated. Is this true? Also if i do get priority, could i activate his ability to summon a Prime material dragon, and stop bottomless with Prime’s ability?

You do have priority to activate the ignition effect of any monster on the field or activate a spell speed 2 or 3 spell or trap. It doesn’t matter if there is a cost for the effect or not. So you can activate REDMD’s effect. But if BTH is chained to it, you cannot save your Dragon. Both effects will still work.
It is a misconception that you need to “call” priority to use it. The turn player automatically has priority after summoning a monster in the main phase. You keep priority until you use it (activate an effect), pass it to your opponent (state that you are not using it), or do something else (indicate you are ending your main phase to move to another phase). Actually, when you summon in your main phase, your opponent is the one who has to wait and should ask if you are using your priority before he tries to activate an effect. If he activates Bottomless before you state whether or not you will use your priority, you can make him take back the move until you use your effect. However he can chain BTH to REDMD’s effect. It will remove REDMD, then REDMD’s effect will SS a monster. Even if that monster is Prime Material Dragon, it cannot save REDMD because by the time PMD hits the field, BTH has finished resolving and REDMD has already been removed from the field.
Also note that if you summon and choose not to use priority to activate an effect, priority automatically goes to your opponent before the end of the main phase. He must also have a chance to activate something in that phase (before moving on to the battle phase) if he wants. If you do not pass priority, and try to go straight to the battle phase, he can make you back up to the main phase so that he can activate his effect.
