Belkin Tunecast Universal Adaptor won’t turn on, why?

I bought a brand new Belkin adaptor for my Creative Zen MP3 player to use in my 2004 Pontiac Vibe but the adaptor won’t turn on. I’ve tried another adaptor and it won’t turn on either, but the cigarette lighter works. Could it be that the adaptor isn’t compatible with the lighter?

I think you have answered your question in your details. The adapter might not be compadible with your cars inlet for a cigarette lighter. You should check the voltage settings (car cigarette lighter inlet vs. mp3 player adaptor). If they are not compadible you might have to get a different mp3 player or your cigarette lighter inlet replaced. Also you could check the mp3 players reaction to someone elses vehicle, to see if it works at all. Just try not to damage that persons electrical system.
